A blog of our current photography work.

Cayla and Anthony

Cayla and Anthony got married a few weeks ago on chilly but beautiful November day at the Morton Arboretum. They braved the cold and we took a bunch of portraits in nature to catch the last of the fall color. Their intimate ceremony was held in the Gingko room and then the same room was flipped for their reception. It was such a pleasure to photograph the love that Cayla and Anthony have for each other. Congratulations!! Thank you to Cayla and Anthony from my heart for having me be a part of their day. -Jake

Lauren and Brandon

I just love photographing weddings out in the country. Something about the fresh air and open space makes me feel right at home. Sable Creek Homestead in Minooka, where Lauren and Brandon had the wedding, was the perfect setting for their day! Lauren got ready on site in the huge bridal suite before we did a first look at the nearby Baker County Forest Preserve. It was quite windy that day and, fortunately, this location blocked all of the wind while we did portraits. The fall color in the forest was glorious! Their ceremony was held on the homestead and the site was built by hand by the owners. Everything about their day was just absolutely gorgeous and perfect and I feel so blessed that I got to capture it all. Congratulations to Lauren and Brandon!!

Meghan and Patrick

A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of photographing Meghan and Patrick’s wedding ceremony and reception at the amazing Itasca Country Club! They had their ceremony inside set against a beautiful ring of flowers and surrounded by all their friends and family. Afterwards, we went out of the golf course in the warm autumn sunshine for portraits with the bridal party. I swear we were laughing the entire time and I had an absolute blast with this group. Thank you Meghan and Patrick for having me be a part of your day. You are the best!!

Lauren and Sean

Last month I had the honor of photographing Lauren and Sean’s amazing fall wedding at the unique Charcoal Factory Loft in Chicago. We started off the day with some getting ready shots at their condos followed by a first look at Ward Park. We then took a trip to the Chicago River for some bridal party portraits with Chicago as a backdrop before heading to Charcoal Factory for their ceremony. Their short but sweet ceremony was held in the courtyard and afterwards they had food trucks and dancing! Ending the night with a sparkler tunnel is good way to go! Thank you Lauren and Sean for having me photograph your wedding!! Jake

Molly and Michael

This past October was a month full of really amazing wedding couples. Molly and Michael were no exception. They foster through Second City Canine Rescue so it was only fitting that the first thing we did after their first look was photos with their three dogs who got dressed up for the occasion. Afterwards, their ceremony was held in the beautiful Madonna della Strada chapel on the coast of Lake Michigan at Loyola. It was such a gorgeous sunny day that we were blessed with to do portraits around the campus afterwards. Their reception was coordinated by the fabulous Erin at Harry Caray’s in Lombard and their florals were designed by the talented Florist & Hound Design. It was the perfect day!!
