Hey! Thanks for taking the time to check out my work! My name is Jake Moreland and I’m a professional photographer based in Downers Grove, IL. I have 20+ years of experience and I love every moment of it. My journey as a photographer started in high school art class when I borrowed my sister’s film SLR and I shot a roll of really under exposed photos of an orange. Shortly thereafter, a friend of mine took a college dark room class and I was obsessed with the way their black and white photos looked. At that point, I was hooked and studied photography at Olivet Nazarene University.  The first couple of weddings I photographed were all shot with black and white film which I printed in the dark room. When I graduated college in 2005, I started photographing professionally for a studio until I created Two Birds Photography in 2008. Services I currently offer are wedding photography, family sessions, high school senior portraits, maternity sessions, newborn portraits, business portraits, commercial photography, and interior design photography.

I am the proud father of my three sons who I fondly refer to as my unpaid interns and I have a rescue cat who has no interest in photography (only snacks). I’m a nature guy and you can find me out hiking, taking photos in nature, gathering sticks and stones, admiring trees, and picking up trash. I like to go to record and thrift stores, skateboard, play Pokémon/Magic the Gathering, and make art. I also own Acorn and Snake, a shamanic practice, and do intuitive readings and energy work.
