Jennifer and Brandon

Jennifer and Brandon got married in Naperville in their parent’s backyard a few weeks ago. It was a beautiful summer afternoon to be surrounded by their loved ones as they celebrated their marriage together. I had an absolute blast capturing all the moments as they, and their family, hung out and played games. Congratulations Jennifer and Brandon!

Lauren and Andrew

I’ve been looking forward to photograph Lauren and Andrew’s wedding for a couple of years and I am so excited to be showing a preview from their day! I did their engagement photos in 2019 and since then they had to make a few changes to their wedding plans and they welcomed a sweet baby girl into the world. They had their wedding at Lauren’s parents property and they transformed the place into a beautiful wonderland. To get to the ceremony site the guests walked along a forest trail and were greeted with cocktails. They then crossed the bridge where Andrew proposed to Lauren. Their ceremony was held under the most gorgeous floral backdrop made by Life in Bloom. Fortunately, Lauren and Andrew were able to say their vows and they got married right before the rain came. I had such a great time photographing their wedding!! Special thanks to Rachel Langlois for helping me photograph this event and it was so awesome to work with Melissa from Clementine Custom Events again.

Hannah and Sam

I had the pleasure of photographing Hannah and Sam’s wedding earlier this month on a beautiful summer day in their parent’s backyard in La Grange surrounded by their immediate family and friends. We started the day with some getting ready photos and portraits at the Hilton in Oak Brook. We found some really pretty spots on the golf course that made it look like we were deep in the woods. Their intimate backyard ceremony was so sweet and I love that they passed around their wedding bands to all the guests to be blessed. How cool is it that they had an artist paint their ceremony live? Afterwards, I went with them downtown La Grange for a few quick urban shots. Dinner was provided by the most delicious food truck and they danced the night away under the string lights. Hannah and Sam’s wedding day was perfect! Special thanks to Nick Holstein for photographing with me!

Catherine and Faiz

Catherine and Faiz got married a couple of weekends ago in Catherine’s parents backyard. When I got there I was immediately greeted by their sweet pup named Bear and I knew that it was going to be a great evening. Although it started to rain a bit, the storm blew through quickly and their ceremony started only 30 minutes behind schedule! A huge shout out to Catherine’s dad who made the benches for the ceremony site and cooked the food for the dinner. It was such a perfect evening!

The following day I met up with Catherine and Faiz again downtown Chicago and spent a couple more hours with them doing portraits around the city! Some of the spots we made it to were the Art Institute, Lurie Gardens, Wrigley Building, and the Riverwalk. Thank you to Catherine and Faiz for having me be a part of their wedding weekend! -Jake

Maggie and Patrick

It’s not news that this pandemic has been difficult for everyone and Covid-19 has thrown so many couple’s wedding plans into chaos. Maggie and Patrick were originally planning on having a big party this year but had to reschedule for next June because of this mess. However, I was thrilled when they reached out to me to say they were planning on having an intimate ceremony in their Aunt’s backyard with just their immediate family on their original date. It was so sweet to be there and still be able to capture their wedding in this way and I can’t wait to photograph their larger party next year. Congrats Maggie and Patrick!

I can’t thank Nick Holstein enough for helping me out and photographing with me on this day. So many of these photos were taken by him. He’s such a talented photographer and you can check out his personal work here. -Jake
