Lindsay and Jordan

Lindsay and Jordan got married a few weeks ago on a beautiful (and slightly rainy) August Saturday. Their ceremony and reception took place in their backyard and I had absolutely great time spending the afternoon capturing their event. Some of the highlights are the millions of rose petals on the aisle, the cocktail bar in the front yard for the guests upon arrival, and the wood fired pizza for dinner. It’s always such a blessing to see two people in love get married and to be able to celebrate them with creating photos. Thank you, Lindsay and Jordan, for having me be a part of your wedding! - Jake

Sophie and James

I photographed Sophie and James wedding a couple of weeks ago at Kathryn Legge Memorial Park. The first thing I noticed when I got there was the display of the elements earth, air, water and fire. I got excited because it’s not often that I see alternative spiritual principles invoked in a wedding ceremony. One of the first things I do at every wedding is check in with the nature spirits of the place and I spent a few moments looking up at the beautiful pine trees that were overhead and I noticed Sophie glance up a few times during the ceremony and I was all like “I know…they’re lovely aren’t they?”. After their exchange of vows we did a flurry of group portraits in the park and then travelled to Il Poggiolo Ristorante in downtown Hinsdale for a few candids during their reception. I really enjoyed being a part of Sophie and James’ wedding and I wish them all the best with their future together!

Russell and Valerie

I had the pleasure of photographing Russell and Valerie's wedding ceremony at the Unitarian Church in Hinsdale.  It was an intimate event and I felt very honored to be a part of it.  Usually I'm photographing for an entire day on the weekend but their wedding took only a couple of hours on weekday so it was nice to switch things up!  I still got to do a few portraits of them just outside the church before their dinner at Vie in Western Springs. I loved working with Valerie and Russell and spending time with their family and friends for the afternoon. Here's a few of my favorite photos from their wedding.
