October is always a super busy month for us and for good reason. It's a really beautiful time of the year! Tracy and Mike's wedding happened to be on the nicest day this past October as it was 72 degrees and sunny which was especially nice because the chose to have an outdoor ceremony. Their venue of choice was the amazing Farm at Dover which is in southern Wisconsin. There was so much charm packed into this place that I knew wherever I turned I could make amazing photos. Tracy and Mike were such an awesome couple to work for and I had so much fun capturing their day!
Journal
A blog of our current photography work.
Alyssa and Adam
We have always had good intentions to keep our blog updated and showcase all the beautiful weddings that we photograph but between wrangling our three awesome boys, all the (MANY) photo shoots this past year, and the work we've done with animal rescue our blog has been neglected. Over the next couple of weeks we are going to be posting a few of the weddings we photographed this past year and, hopefully, this coming wedding season we will be able to keep things updated a little better!
Today's post is going to showcase some of our favorite photos from Alyssa and Adam's wedding at Emerson Creek Pottery and Tea Room in Oswego, IL. We love getting some fresh air and photographing weddings that are out in the country. Emerson Creek is one of our favorite places to shoot as it has a cute bridal coop for getting ready shots, the tented reception area that backs up to a converted shed that's perfect for cocktails, and all the beautiful scenery to take portraits in front of. But more importantly we wanted to share this wedding because Alyssa and Adam are so in love with each other and it was such a joy to photograph their sunny September outdoor ceremony.
Kelly and Matt's Wedding
There are a lot of photos in this post, but it's just the way it has to be.
This.was.an.amazing.wedding.
We didn't know each other before we did their engagement session, but shooting Kelly and Matt's wedding was like being at a private outdoor concert with friends. Only two people just happened to get married, and we just happened to document every incredible second.
First of all, if you're going to have your dog at your wedding, and she's going to be wearing a floral wreath, you know we are going to get along just fine. Couple that with amazing music by the Waydown Wanderers (who we have since been listening to non-stop), plenty of DIY details, homegrown flowers, a jaw-dropping BHLDN gown, and damn good people, all on your family's farm -- you've got yourself a recipe for one of our favorite weddings of all time.
Please enjoy a few (ok, many, many) photos of Kelly and Matt's beautiful farm wedding...

Elisa and Matt's Wedding
Elisa and Matt got married a couple of weeks ago at the beautiful Heritage Prairie Farm. We loved the scenery and the relaxed feel of their day on the farm (not to mention their delicious homegrown organic food!). Elisa and Matt's outdoor ceremony was held behind the farmhouse with rows of plants growing in the background. And what can be better than parading away from the ceremony with instruments? These guys are an amazing group of people to work for (I've photographed both of Elisa's siblings weddings). It was great to hang out with the Szopa family again! Here's a few of my favorite shots from their day! -Jake
Kimberley and Dan's Wedding
Kimberley and Dan's gorgeous summer wedding was held on a rustic farm at a place called Emerson Creek Pottery and Tearoom. I loved the laid back rural vibe this venue had. Emerson Creek had a bridal coop for getting ready shots, an outdoor ceremony space with a cornfield backdrop, a barn/tent reception, and a tea room for portraits- this place was amazing! Kimberley, Dan, and party were a great group of people to work for and I'm so excited to show them all of their photos. Enjoy this snapshot of their day! -Jake
