Kelsey and Jimmy
FUN. That’s the word I would use to describe Kelsey and Jimmy’s summer wedding. And even that seems like an understatement. Sparkles, sprinkles, tuxedo t-shirts, pool party, bubbles etc. I can’t tell you how delighted I was that Kelsey’s wedding dress and Jimmy’s shoes were light up. This backyard wedding was the day before the Fourth of July so you better believe there was lots of red, white, and blue. Their cake cutting included a confetti candle, they had all the kids blow bubbles during the first dance, and the wedding ended with a literal splash to open up a pool party. Kelsey and Jimmy were a BLAST to photograph!
Sophie and James
I photographed Sophie and James wedding a couple of weeks ago at Kathryn Legge Memorial Park. The first thing I noticed when I got there was the display of the elements earth, air, water and fire. I got excited because it’s not often that I see alternative spiritual principles invoked in a wedding ceremony. One of the first things I do at every wedding is check in with the nature spirits of the place and I spent a few moments looking up at the beautiful pine trees that were overhead and I noticed Sophie glance up a few times during the ceremony and I was all like “I know…they’re lovely aren’t they?”. After their exchange of vows we did a flurry of group portraits in the park and then travelled to Il Poggiolo Ristorante in downtown Hinsdale for a few candids during their reception. I really enjoyed being a part of Sophie and James’ wedding and I wish them all the best with their future together!

Hannah and Stephen
Summer is here and with that comes many lovely outdoor weddings. Hannah and Stephen had their ceremony in the picturesque Rose Garden at Cantigny Park. We did a first look with Hannah and her dad as well as with Stephen before the ceremony and lots of portraits around Cantigny before they got married. Their reception was held at Hawthorne’s Backyard in West Chicago. Hawthorne’s was so much fun and I was highly entertained by the competitive game of Waffle Ball that took place. That’s not something you see at every wedding, haha. I had so much fun photographing Hannah and Stephen’s wedding and being a part of their perfect summer event. Congratulations!!
