Jacqueline and Felipe

June has always been an amazing month for me for weddings and Jaqueline and Felipe’s certainly started this month on the right note! I began their day with some getting ready photos and a first look at Jacqueline’s parent’s house before heading out to photograph their ceremony. They got married at the gorgeous St. Isaac Jogues in Hinsdale and we followed the ceremony with some portraits at a nearby park Their reception was held at the classy Chicago Highlands Club in Westchester, Illinois. One of my favorite memories was chasing them in a golf cart around the hills to catch some photos in the setting sun. I love my job and I loved capturing Jacqueline and Felipe’s wedding day!

Manuel and Brandon

One of my favorite things about being a wedding photographer is to be a witness and in the presence of couples who are wildly in love with each other. At Manuel and Brandon’s ceremony I remember thinking how palpable the feeling of love was in that room and how great it was to be present for that. You could feel the energy of support held in the cheers of their family and friends after their first kiss. I can’t forget to mention that they included their dog Lu in their ceremony. Lu had the softest ears and was so cute! Manuel and Brandon were such a joy to photograph and made my job so easy. Congratulations to the happy couple!! - Jake

Steven and Kathy

I had the honor of photographing Kathy and Steven’s lovely spring wedding a couple of weeks ago at the Chicago Marriott Southwest in Burr Ridge. It was one of those April days that was raining, then sleeting, and then totally clear in the next moment. Props to Kathy and Steven for being brave and bold to venture outdoors with me for some great portraits on the bridge near the hotel. They were so much fun to photograph and their entire wedding party…well…they knew how to PARTY! It was a great day! -Jake

Cindy and Noah

Every once in a while I get asked to travel for a destination wedding and, even though I love Chicago, it seems to be a breath of fresh air to experience photographing in a different part of the world. Cindy and Noah asked me if I would be interested in traveling to photograph their wedding ceremony in New Orleans, Louisiana and I enthusiastically said “Yeah I would!”. Their ceremony and reception was held in a gorgeous bright and light filled loft called Marche right in the midst of the French Market with stunning views of the Mississippi River. The day started with rain but that didn’t get Cindy and Noah’s spirits down and everything cleared up by ceremony time and we were able go out into the Dutch Alley for some fun and candid outdoor portraits. Over the past few years it has been amazing getting to know Cindy and Noah as I’ve done their maternity, newborn (their son was born on my birthday, ha!), and family photos. Getting to photograph their wedding as well was extra special and I truly wish them the happiest and brightest future! Congratulations, Cindy and Noah, and thank you for having me be a part of everything!! -Jake
