A blog of our current photography work.

Cathy and Jim

Cathy and Jim tied the knot a couple of weeks ago on a gorgeous, sunny May afternoon in Clarendon Hills, IL. Backyard weddings like this one are such a joy to photograph—there’s something about that laid-back vibe that makes everything feel extra special. The kids were running around, tossing balls, bouncing on the trampoline (and I swear I saw one of them shaking up a bottle of soda during the first dance—chaos in the best way).

Their ceremony was sweet, intimate, and full of love, officiated by a few of their closest friends. It was such a gift to be there, camera in hand, witnessing it all unfold. Thank you, Cathy and Jim, for inviting me into your beautiful day!

Yujia and Andrew

The other week I had the pleasure of photographing Andrew and Yujia’s wedding at one of my favorite venues to work at - Armour House in Lake Forest, IL. It was quite windy out, however, that didn’t stop Andrew and Yujia from getting married on the grounds and having a good time with photos outside. I’m always blessed to work with such amazing couples that are willing to bounce our creative ideas off each other. Here’s a few of my favorites from their wedding! Congratulations to Yujia and Andrew! -Jake

Emily and Brian

Emily and Brian got married earlier this month at the lovely Pinstripes in Northbrook, IL. They had a beautiful outdoor ceremony immediately followed by a reception in Pinstripes’ light filled space. A couple of my favorite memories from their wedding was seeing their son play on the bocce ball court, him taking a picture of me with their cell phone, and all the laughter and happy tears throughout the event. Congratulations Emily and Brian! Thank you so much for having me be a part of your day! -Jake

Abby and Jack

Abby and Jack got married a couple weeks ago at the fabulous Lyric Theater in Blue Island, Illinois. What an amazing place to have a wedding! I had so much fun spending the day with Abby, Jack, and their family and friends. It’s especially refreshing when everybody gets into all the ideas that I throw their way and they run with it all. If I’m at a stylish theater you know I’m going to have a lot of ideas, haha. I’ll even stand in a busy street to make the vision come to life. It was an honor and privilege to capture Abby and Jack’s wedding day. Enjoy the photos! -Jake

Erin and Valerie

The day after Valentine’s day I had the privilege and honor to photograph Valerie and Erin’s wedding! It took place at the fabulous Whitetail Ridge Golf Club in Yorkville, Illinois. The entire day was filled with love, joy, and laughter and I’m grateful I was there to capture it all. They were easily one of the best group of people on the dance floor. I wish Valerie and Erin the biggest congratulation and I can’t wait to share the rest of the photos with them. Thanks, as always, to Nick Holstein for being my second photographer! All my best, Jake
